Miss Me?





Dear Visitor,

My greatest apologies for not keeping up with my Haunted Library. It turns out that the Masters Program has taken up majority of my time. Which is terrible because it doesn't leave much room for blogging or writing in general. However, as we learned in my Social Work classes, self care is very important. So maybe and can squeeze some time for this blog.

Anyways, just because I haven't been writing doesn't mean I've been ignoring the horror genre. I have plenty of movies that I would love to talk with you about. So please be patient while I reorganize life and find the right balance for everything.

Originally, I collaborated with a friend on a different blog known as Damsels With Chainsaws. I was known as Damsel Bruja. It was great for a while because we are both great lovers of the horror genre. But alas, great empires will fall apart. This election was a real sore spot between us. Danger in The Mist

Dear Visitor, How about THE MIST? I have been excited for this show for a while! Although, I was a little underwhelmed. Right out the gate they pile on a ton of Social Justice issues. I'm all for using entertainment to discussing real issues, but it was all on the nose. There was rape, slut shaming, homophobia, racism, comments on "toxic masculinity", and evil white cops. I think they could've used the rest of the season to bring up all these issues. You know, spread out the issues to push the story along. People are going to be confined to small spaces; claustrophobia and paranoia are bound to set in. I'm really worried that this show is going to be constant virtue signaling and so far other commenters are saying the same thing. I did enjoy how scary The Mist seemed.
