Dear Visitor,

Welcome to my haunted library. I'm so glad you could join me.

Here's some background on how I ended up here. Originally, I collaborated with a friend on a different blog known as Damsels With Chainsaws. I was known as Damsel Bruja. It was great for a while because we are both great lovers of the horror genre. But alas, great empires will fall apart.

This election was a real sore spot between us. I thought that our friendship could endure. I'm of the mind that you are allowed to have different political opinions and still be the best of friends. I guess my politics was too much for her. What resulted was being blocked on twitter, no texts, no calls, no emails, and no continued collaboration on our blog. Now understand, I don't blame her one bit. I've always believed everyone is entitled to their feelings and beliefs. All I can do is hope that we will reconcile and pray that she and her family continue to be happy and healthy.

Anyways, dear Visitor, this blog will be my own. I have a number of topics that I want to discuss and hope you'll add your own opinions. Here I will be talking about film, novels, tv, writing, and any other random thought that floats in the contraption I call a brain. Dear Visitor, How about THE MIST? I have been excited for this show for a while! Although, I was a little underwhelmed. Right out the gate they pile on a ton of Social Justice issues. I'm all for using entertainment to discussing real issues, but it was all on the nose. There was rape, slut shaming, homophobia, racism, comments on "toxic masculinity", and evil white cops. I think they could've used the rest of the season to bring up all these issues. You know, spread out the issues to push the story along. People are going to be confined to small spaces; claustrophobia and paranoia are bound to set in. I'm really worried that this show is going to be constant virtue signaling and so far other commenters are saying the same thing. I did enjoy how scary The Mist seemed.
