The Pain "Train To Busan"
Dear Visitor,
I know that this movie has been out for a while but I really want to talk about this gem.
First of all, I want to talk about how much I love Korean cinema. My family and I absolutely love the shows and films that come out of Korea. They have great stories, everything is well written, and the acting is on point! Sometimes I wish that American television had this much drive.
So let's move on. A zombie virus infects South Korea leaving a group of survivors on a train to fight off the undead, and their own paranoia, on their train and left to wonder, if there is anywhere safe to go. Their only hope is to make it to Busan.
The thing I love most about this movie was were the characters. It was less about the zombies and more about the survivors. You had the father and daughter whose relationship is already struggling. While this father is trying to keep his daughter safe from the monsters and potential threats from the other survivors, she doesn't see it that way. You also had the obnoxious businessman who was willing to sacrifice ANYONE to survive.
All these characters were relatable. That's one of the reasons why I love this movie. There's always one character you can see yourself ass. I'd probably be the father protecting their kid. Sorry, everyone. You might be great people, but I gotta take care of my own.
The zombies here were pretty scary too. They were a mixture of the World War Z zombies and the Infected from 28 Days Later. There was an amazing scene where our survivors and to make their way through a train car packed with zombies...and they had to do it without making a sound! It had me on the edge of my seat!
Well I hope you definitely check it out. It's available on Netflix.
Enjoy Yourselves,
M.G.
